Tip about digital cameras

I found out that you can't just download and erase pictures off of your memory stick over and over. You need to format your memory stick almost after every time you download. If you don't, your stick can get corrupted as I found out last night. There is software you can buy that will help you recover some of the photos, but all the photos don't necessarily come back in perfect form.

You can format disks from the setup function on your camera. When you do format a disk, all the data will be erased, so make sure you download and save the information first. But y'all probably already knew all this ...

It must be your camera. I have never had to re-format my memory card. (or at least not that I know of)

Could be. I have an old Sony camera, and I got my information off a forum I googled. I'd never had problems with it before, but all of the sudden I couldn't download my pictures. One of the posters suggested formatting the card often to avoid the problem in the future. Probably a Sony thing.
